It's Time to Get Your Nails Dirty!

I finally found time to plant a few seed last week, the wait for those little sprouts is agonizing, only because of my procrastination in this years’ crop. Troy, Linda and I swapped some heirloom tomato and melon varietals from our last years’ crops. It’s exciting to dry seeds to keep that heirloom generation alive. I was happy to see some of the growth that survived the icy Salt Lake tundra. If I could just get an edge on the harvest, it seems the neighborhood flock of birds has developed some interest in my chard and spinach starts. I guess the little birds need to eat too.  I encourage all you green thumbs out there to get out and steel some seeds from your neighbors or simply get out and support your local garden center. So get out and get some dirt under your nails!
